I think it's sad when anyone dies, but with deaths of great people like Yoshihiro Tatsumi it's like a piece of society goes with them, due to their contributions to society. Gekiga was a term coined by him. This style was a darker, edgier take on the more whimsical styles used in manga. It's even more sad to me that he died on my birthday. I haven't been this sad since Yoshinori Kanada died. All we can do now is cherish his contributions to society, and never forget the works he's done.
