Cartoon Impressions #3: Star vs. the forces of evil.

Cartoon Impressions is based on my personal impressions of various cartoons.
This gives more weight to my own opinion. If you don’t like what’s said or written in this series, understand everyone is entitled to their own opinions

Star vs. the forces of evil. There's been a lot of hype for this show. Today I'll give my overall impressions. From the first episode my opinion is a little meh. The first episode could have been better. The show starts off by introducing Princess Star. It's her 14th birthday, and on her 14th birthday she gets a magic wand that has been pasted down from generation to generation. After burning down her home town, which according to Wikipedia is spelled Mewni. She gets send to earth and meets up our deuteragonist Marco who knows karate. I don't want to spoil too much for anyone who hasn't watched this, so I'll give my impression.

For the first episode I think this show started out on the wrong foot. Don't get me wrong it's a good show and I like it but, it just started on the wrong foot. I like the art and animation but for the first episode, the writing felt a little wonky. In the first half a lot of the jokes didn't really hit home for me. The second half I found a few jokes here and there that made me laugh. Another thing I found in these two halves is how they shoe-horned in the main villain Ludo and Princess Pony head.  Also I felt the main villain's a little weak, Not necessarily in strength, but in the field of villainy. My point is he's no Darkseid. These are my feelings of the first episode, however when I checked out the second episode it was a lot better. The second episode was far more enjoyable to me then the first. My grade for this episode (The first episode) will be a little more harsh because unlike the other two impressions, which were pilots, this is a full series.
