Cartoon Impressions #5: Mary and Max

Cartoon Impressions is based on my personal impressions of various cartoons.
This gives more weight to my own opinion. If you don’t like what’s said or written in this series, understand everyone is entitled to their own opinions

Max and Ruby is an amazing film from its writing to its animation. The movie dives into themes of loneliness, depression, and aspergers. This movie has won and been nominated many awards, two of these awards being the Australian Directors Guild's Best Direction in a Feature Film, and Ottawa International Animation Festival's Grand Prize. As I watched this movie I fell in love with the characterization in this film. Every character was relevant and added something to the story. The themes this film went for were executed very well. The stop-motion animation was inventive and also done very well. I feel this is one of those films that needs to be cherished for generations to come. If you personally haven't watched this film yet I advise you to go watch it. I'm very sure you'll get some kind of enjoyment out of this film.
